1) Returning as much downspoiled fill as possible from the slope below to the North Pit bench area.
Downspoiled material will be used to partially backfill the bench azea and sandstone scarp.
2) Moving the recovered spoiled fill material and side cut to the base of the bench adjacent to the sandstone at
the inside edge of the bench.
3) Moving all boulders and cobble material from the bench azea to the inside edge of the bench prior to
remaining backfilling.
4) Recovering the remaining needed fill from the Permanently Reclaimed Spoils Area below the North Pit.
Backfilling will leave a 30 foot wide bench and backfill the sandstone scarp to a grade of 3H:1 V. The upper
segment of the sandstone scarp cannot be backfilled at this grade and will remain as it currently exists.
5) Regrading the North Pit bench fill to final contour.
6) Loading and hauling topsoil from Topsoil Stockpile #2 to cover the entire North Pit bench fill area with
eight to twelve inches of topsoil.
7) Regrading and spreading of the topsoil. Some topsoil will be spread over the bench outslope to cover
downslope spoil that could not be retrieved.
8) Seeding, planting and mulching the Notch Pit azea as described in the revegetation plan.
Reconstruction of Cazbon Junction Canyon
The restoration of the Cazbon Junction drainage will be part of the final reclamation plan and is bonded for the
cost of the work. The work involves a diversion of 1962 feet that will be tiprap lined and will have one culvert
crossing under the main access road. The channel itself will be 14' wide after lining and vanes in depth from
1.9 feet to 2.8 feet for segment 6, including freeboazd.
Reclamation of the haul road to the North Pit, Topsoil Stockpile #2, and the permanently reclaimed spoils azea.
The haul road to the North Pit will be reduced to a width of 30 feet and the upper portion and lower portion in
excess of this width will be backfilled to slopes no steeper than 3H:1 V. Fill for the North Pit and haul road
will be excavated from the Permanently Reclaimed Spoils Area.
The areas that will be seeded include the haul road reclamation azea, the regraded Topsoil Stockpile #2, and
that portion of the permanently reclaimed spoils azea used to supply fill for reclamation.
Seed Mix/Seeding Methods
A basic grass and forb seed mixture will be used in all azeas revegetated after reclamation (Table 5-6). The
goal of the herbaceous seeding will be to establish a vegetation cover adequate to control erosion and minimize
weedy species establishment prior to final development of the property. In areas where crops were grown prior
to mining, crops may be re-established post-mine if this is consistent with the commercial land use of the
property. Grasses and forbs will be planted using drill seeding and/or broadcast means. In the case of
broadcast seeding, the seeding rates will be two times the rates shown in Table 5-6. Any crops seeded will be
