' is also presented. Density date was collected by maturity class to determine the relative
die-off and regeneration in the reclaimed areas. The "mature" class includes all established
' individuals which were not true seedlings or were not deed. As can be seen from the data, a
significant amount of regeneration has occurred for rubber rabbitbrush (Chrvsothamnus nauseosus)
' and four-wing seltbush (Atriolex canesc ens). In the Riparian Reclaimed unit, both trees and
shrubs were included in the density measurements since the trees ere not yet truly in a mature
' tree class.
Seedling density is reported as individual plot data end as summary date. Relative density and
' the average number of seedlings per square foot are presented in the summery report . Seedling
density data was collected in the recently reclaimed unit to determine the success of
' revegetation activities. The mean number of perennial seedlings per square foot w as 1.9 (2.0
when annual/biennial species are included). Seedling density at this level would indicate a
' stand rating of good to excellent, pa rtieularly when the composition of the seedlings is
considered (Valentine, 1971).
' Literature Cited
Beetle, A.A. 1970.
