Introduction <br />This document is the decision package prepazed by the Division of Minerals and Geology <br />(Division) for the Southfield Mine. This document includes: 1) the proposed decision to approve <br />the permit renewal application; 2) a summary which includes a history of the review of the <br />permit application, a description of the mining and reclamation plan; and 3) the written fmdings <br />of compliance the Division has made as required by the Colorado Surface Coal Mining <br />Reclamation Act. Detailed information concerning the fmdings of compliance can be found in <br />the Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Boazd for Coal Mining. <br />The Division received an application for a permit renewal to conduct coal mining and <br />reclamation activities at the Southfield Mine. The application was submitted by Energy Fuels <br />Coal, Inc. The Southfield Mine will be operated by Energy Fuels Coal, Inc. The mine is located <br />on private lands within Fremont County, Colorado. The legal description of the lands within the <br />permit azea are: <br />Southfield Mine azea: <br />Township 20 South, Range 69 West <br />Sections 19, 30, and 31 <br />Township 20 South, Range 70 West <br />Sections 23, 24, 25, and 26 <br />Southfield Loadout azea: <br />Township 19 South, Range 69 West <br />Sections 17 and 18 <br />Proposed Decision <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology proposes to APPROVE an application for renewal of a <br />valid existing permit. <br />The application was submitted by Energy Fuels Coal, Inc. for the Southfield Mine. This decision <br />is based on a fording that the operations will comply with all requirements of the Colorado State <br />Program as found in the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act, C.R.S. 34-33-101 et <br />seq., and the Regulations promulgated pursuant to the Act. If no request for a formal hearing is <br />made within thirty days of the first publication of the issuance of this proposed decision, then this <br />decision becomes final. The permit application, all supporting documentation and any <br />stipulations or conditions will become a binding part of the permit. <br />The following stipulation remains in effect: <br />Southfield Mine Permit Renewa104 1 September 10, 2004 <br />
