The project proponent and applicant is Clear Creek
District-Water Providers LLC, 5560 Quebec Street, Suite 11 Q Greenwood Yillage,.Colorado. _ _. _ _ _
Douglas Mountain Filing No. 1, a residential area, is located immediately east of the proposed mining
facility. We are adamantly opposed to the construction and operation of this or any other mining facility
of this type in this area. We have had direct experience with the impacts associated with the operation of
the Albert Frei & Sons Quarry on US 6 in Clear Creek Canyon. None of the regulations associated with
the operation of this facility have been enforced by the State of Colorado, setting a very poor example of
rock mining in this sensitive region. As such, we request that DMG delay a decision to issue a mining
permit until the following issues, at a minimum, are fully considered and addressed.
vv 3 . ,r , Latll~;
With respeci to the quarry application we have the following speclfio comment's '
..~:,:1'I -1r,' ) . ~ II iL' :.lf~ . r•,- ! r :. tl .,r I 1,. r.. :1 . Monitoring results will be provided to DMRA, with
interpretation, on a monthly basis. Where will the industrial water
supply (proposed to be trucked to the facility) be obtained? How does the proposed volume, 30,000
gallons per day, compare to the volume of water used for similar purposes at the Frei Quarry? Where will
the crusher fines be stored and what is the potential for this material to release heary metals in dissolved
or particulate form?
