B. Highway Drainage Culvert #1 and Bypass Culvert
This existing culvert system is shown as features #10 and #11 on
Exhibit 3A. The configuration of the culverts after completion of
drainage modification work is shown in plan view on Exhibit 36. The
CONTRACTOR shall reconstruct the outlet end of the highway culvert by
daylighting or exposing the outlet end to forma trapezoid shaped
riprap lined drainage channel for a minimum distance of 50 feet from
the outlet end and in the cross sectional configuration shown on
Exhibit 4C. The buried bypass portion of the culvert extending from
the outlet end of the highway culvert to near the river embankment
shall be removed as necessary to accomplish the regrading work. In
the event required regrading work can be completed to the specified
lines and grades without exposing the buried culvert, both the
highway culvert outlet end and the buried bypass culvert can be left
in their present configuration.
C. Highway Drainage Culvert #2
This culvert is shown as feature #13 on Exhibit 3A. The plan view
configuration of this culvert after completion of drainage
modification work is shown on Exhibit 3B. The CONTRACTOR shall
reconstruct the portion of the culvert located south of the highway
by daylighting or exposing the culvert at some distance between
5 feet and 15 feet from the south edge of the highway pavement. The
CONTRACTOR shall construct a new outlet end at this point by removing
the remains of the buried culvert extension and constructing a riprap
lined drainage channel beginning at the outlet end and extending a
minimum distance of 50 feet down the slope of the regraded surface.
Exhibit 4C contains a cross sectional diagram showing the required
configuration of the channel segment.
D. Highway Drainage Culvert #3
This culvert is shown as feature #48 on Exhibit 3A. The plan view
configuration of this culvert after completion of drainage
modification work is shown on Exhibit 3B. The CONTRACTOR shall
reconstruct the portion of the culvert located south of the highway
by constructing a minimum 50 foot long trapezoidal shaped drainage
channel beginning at the existing outlet end and extending down the
regraded hillslope. Exhibit 4C contains across sectional diagram
showing the required configuration of the channel segment.
-24-
