Rippin <br />ALL disturbed or regraded surfaces at the East mine that have become <br />compacted by heavy equipment usage or were not broken up or loosened <br />during regrading work shall be ripped to a depth of 2 feet with a <br />maximum 2 foot horizontal spacing between ripper shank penetration <br />lines. ALL surfaces shall be ripped along the contour with the <br />exception of steep hillslope areas where contour ripping poses a <br />safety hazard to equipment operators. <br />E. Working Area Limits <br />The edges of all cut and fill areas at the working area boundary and <br />along all established shrub/tree stands and undisturbed areas shall <br />be graded or tapered to create a smooth (plus or minus 6 in.) <br />transition between the final regraded surface and undisturbed <br />surfaces or surfaces outside the working area boundary. Care shall <br />be taken during regrading activities to prevent damage to established <br />vegetation. Earthwork and regarding activities of any nature shall <br />remain at all times within the working area limits shown on <br />Exhibit 3A except as allowed in the specifications or by the <br />PROJECT MANAGER. Earthwork and regrading activities shall also at <br />all times remain outside of established shrub/tree stands located <br />within the working area limits. <br />4.3 Measurement and Payment <br />No measurement for payment shall be made for disturbed area regrading work. <br />Payment shall be made for the lump sum bid price established on the bid <br />schedule. The price bid shall include all of the CONTRACTOR'S cost of <br />whatever nature to complete the regrading work in accordance with the <br />specifications, including excavation and placement, hauling fill to the west <br />mine area, compaction, ripping, coal and coal waste material special handling, <br />and removal and disposal of subsurface mining related materials. <br />-22- <br />
