3. Substation Facility - This facility is shown as item 3 on
Ex i it 3A and includes one large concrete transformer pad
35'Lx8'W; one smaller concrete regulator pad 14'Lx5'W; plus
other smaller pads, foundations and footers. Thickness of
concrete and type/extent of reinforcing used is unknown.
Nature and extent of subsurface items associated with facility
also unknown. Facility contains seven large platform or
pedestal mount transformers, three platform or pedestal mount
regulators, three pole mount transformers, one rectangular
metering outfit, plus a structural steel structure or framework
and other items associated with the facility. All electrical
equipment at the facility containing cooling oils have been
tested and found to be free of PCB's (polychlorinated
biphemals) with the exception of one regulator located on the
south end of the 3-regulator bank which was found to have
5.7 ppm (parts per million). This concentration is below the
minimum level established by the EPA for PCB disposal
regulations. However, the CONTRACTOR must comply with all
appropriate statutes relating to the handling, transportation,
and disposal of non-PCB cooling oils.
4. Switch Gear Building - This structure is shown as item 20 on
Exhibit 3A and consists of a corrugated sheet metal and
structural steel building measuring 24'Lxl6'Wx10'H with a
concrete floor of unknown thickness and type/extent of
reinforcing. The building contains a bank of electrical
switching mechanisms and related electrical equipment. The
rear of the building is damaged.
5. Ventilation Fan Facility - The general location of this feature
is shown on Exhibit 3A as item 21, and the plan view dimensions
of this facility are shown on Exhibit 6F with notations
indicating height of structures. Contents remaining inside the
structure and outside the facility are not shown.
6. Crusher Facility - The general location of this feature is
shown on Exhibit 3A as items 22, 23, 24 and 25. The plan view
dimensions of the facility are shown on Exhibit 6G. The
facility includes the operator's shack, remains of the crusher
stand and foundation, the portal mouth conveyor support, the
electrical equipment and retaining wall, and the caved mine
entry. Depth and thickness of the crusher foundation is
unknown, as well as any subsurface features associated with the
facility. Type and extent of reinforcing used in the concrete
is unknown.
-g-
