We know you feel you must stand behind your Specialists but when they are
WRONG, they are WRONG!
This property is the run off for the Arkansas River. We get 14 to 18 feet of snow
each winter that melts off in 30 days or less. We can't always go by the map.
We have had over the 14 years to work out different plans to be able to hold
back the erosion. This project has been a labor of love and profit has never been
in the picture! Ms. Crosby doesn't have a clue even tho she is experienced in
mineral program laws and regulations. We do not move one shovel of dirt unless
it benefits the land! The county assessors office is so proud of what we have
done to the property, they have raised the property taxes three times in the 14
years we have owned it. Spending $40,000.00 for reclamation has been well
worth it in pride and satisfaction.
Deanna Van Ella
>From: "Humphries, Bruce" <bruce.humphries@state.co.us>
>To: "'goldbasin@hotmail.com"' <goldbasin@hotmail.com>
>CC: "Crosby, Erica" <erica.crosby@state.co.us>, "Mount, Cazl"
<carl.mount@state.co.us>
>Subject: RE: Gold Basin Mine
>Date: Fri, 18 Mar 2005 13:37:56 -0700
>This Email is in response to your letter of march 15, 2005. I will
>follow-up with letter, but wanted to get our response to you as soon as
>possible so that you may complete the permit amendment process.
>The Rules and Regulations are in the process of being revised to allow
>amendments to 110 permits. The form that you are completing or have
>completed is the existing form that does not allow the option of an
>amendment. We have, however, decided to allow you to submit an amendment
>application now rather than later using our existing application form that
>does not have acheck-off box for amendments. (Please address the completed
>application to our Ms. Erica Crosby so that we can make sure the
>administration staff do not return it to you.) I believe that our Ms.
>Crosby indicated in her inspection report that you should submit an
>amendment. We apologize for the confusion, but were trying give you a break
>on the permitting process by allowing you to submit an amendment rather than
>having to submit a whole new application.
>In reference to your other question. We agree with you that the area has
>been previously disturbed by other mining operations. We also agree that as
>long as you do not reaffect those previously affected areas, you are not
>responsible for its reclamation. You must, however, and it is your
>responsibility to document, using existing documents in permit files we
>have, photographs that you take, accurate maps of sufficient scale to fully
>describe the affected areas or other suitable means, so that it is clear
>what has been previously affected.
4/4/2005
