In general, sufficient information has been presented to assess most of
the impacts which may occur to the ground water regime as a result of mining
activities. The applicant's ground water information is contained on pages 72 to
103 in the permit application and in Appendix C of the permit application.
Ground Water Flonitorina (2.05.G(3)(b)(iii) and 4.05.13(a)
Wyoming Fuel Company has installed a sufficient number of monitoring wells to
characterize the baseline hydroyeology and the effects of mining on ground water.
WFC has installed 15 monitoring wells within the mine plan and adjacent areas: Wells
1A, 4B, SB, and 6B are completed in the Sudduth coal seam; Wells 1, 1C, 4A, SA,
and 6A are completed in the coal unrlerburrlen; [dells 1B, 4C, SC, and GC are completed
in the overburden; We11 2 is completed in the alluvium of Bolton Draw; and Nell 7 is
completed in the spoil material in Pit 1 (see Exhibit C-2). Lithologic Toys for each
of these monitoring wells are contained within Appendix C supporting material.
Figure 3 in Appendix C contains schematic drars~ings eahich outline the method of
monitoring well construction.
