<br />Memo to Jeff Deckler <br />November 27, 1985 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />Overall, the assessment submitted by Wyoming Fuels focused on the potential <br />for alluvial valley floors existing in the Ciruela and Apache Canyons. As <br />previously stated, the Division agrees that neither of these canyons fit <br />within the category of AVE. However, the probable hydrologic consequence of <br />retreat or long-wall mining in each canyon as detailed above must be <br />identified by the operator. The major concern for these canyons is the <br />minimal sources of water presently available to wildlife and livestock and the <br />potential that underemining might further deplete the sources of water. <br />CT/cj <br />5248E <br />
