This area has increased an additional acre. Rock <br />removal has been from a high rock wall face rather than enlarging any additional <br />surface area. <br />Number of acres reclaimed this year: <br />Surface areas reclaimed: 17 (additional seeding - October, 1985) <br />Number of acres in various stages of reclamation: <br />Acres backfilled: 2 <br />Acres graded: 2 <br />Acres revegetated: } surface area (13 to date) <br />Topsoil acres replaced: 1} plus 1 acre previously topsoiled <br />As of this writing, there have been no new areas reclaimed. lJitl~ nur present <br />quarry activity involving the "high wall", the same quarry floor area continues <br />to be in constant use. This situation should change somewhat next year. <br />Species of vegetation planted, the locations and approximate dates oC ~~lanting: <br />Species: 207, Tye, 57 Blue Gamma, 757, Wheat Grass <br />This mixture is being used on all tfie seeding areas (level surface <br />areas, berms, and road backslopes). <br />Approximate dates of planting: October 1980: April, 1981; October, L981; October, <br />1983; October, 1984; and October, 1985. <br />No fertilizers required to date. <br />Appraisal of the success of relamation efforts: <br />We feel our established seed areas are going to again be successful. We have <br />found that rolling or compacting the seed into the topsoil is necessary to <br />prevent wind loss and insure a higher rate of ground cover. Excess rain this <br />year has produced abundant grass. <br />Estimate of the number of acres to be affected Chis coming year: <br />We anticipated one and one-half acres will be started beginning this fall season. <br />This one and one-half acres will be a continuation to the north along the "high <br />wall" area. <br />• <br />
