disturbed areas above the ten foot elevation, and on the access roads. Approximately sixty willow
cuttings were planted at the perimeter of each pond. It is hoped that These plants will form a
natural sediment bamer over time.
Following construction, silt fence was placed immediately below the excavated portion of each
embankment in order to minimize sediment transport from the excavation area to receiving
streams.
B. Comprehensive inspections of the pond construction areas were made on a periodic basis
throughout the construction process. Installation and periodic modification of the BMP's
described in Section A, above, were completed in the summer and fall of 2000. No significant
problems were observed. As an inactive mine, only one inspection was required to be performed.
C. No sampling was accomplished. No discharge from any of the ponds was observed
before, during or after reclamation.
c:~~m~b~~i,,,wmooP
4
