Spoil ground water monitoring wells have been placed to bedrock in
reclaimed pits 2 and 5. A similar .monitoring well will be placed
in Pit 4 within the first construction season following final
regrading. These three ground water wells will be tested quarterly
(pending weather and site access) for field parameters and chemical
parameters listed above. Results will be submitted to the Division
on an annual basis.
5. Rockcastle has submitted copies of the initial air quality permit
and application for final air quality permits to the Division.
6. Rockcastle will fertilize all retopsoiled areas with mono ammonium
phosphate (100 lb/acre) and ammonium nitrate 34-0-0 (200 lb/acre).
1. Rockcastle will periodically sample reclamation efforts at Pits
1-6. Vegetation will be representatively sampled for cover by an
authority in range managment. The authority shall use his
professional judgment in locating 5 transects per reclaimed pit.
The transects will be 50 meter transects with data collected on
cover at 1 meter increments (both lst and 2nd hits will be
recorded).
