The CONTRACTOR shall exercise caution during mobilization, performance of all work <br />tasks, and demobilization in order to avoid damage to public and private property including, <br />but not limited to, pavements, soils, vegetation, water supplies, fences, walls, structures, <br />existing sediment ponds, landscaping etc. The CONTRACTOR shall repair and restore <br />public or private property damaged during the work at his expense. <br />The CONTRACTOR shall be fully responsible for any and all damage to property caused by <br />his equipment or personnel. The CONTRACTOR shall ensure that the job site is restored to <br />original or better condition and that the PROJECT MANAGER accept that the work is <br />complete. <br />Measurement and Payment <br />No measurement for payment shall be made for mobilization and demobilization. Alump <br />sum bid for mobilization and demobilization shall be reflected under Item 1 of the Bid <br />Schedule. Payment of two-thirds of the lump sum price will be made with the first monthly <br />progress payment after completion of the work described above for mobilization. Payment <br />of one-third of the lump sum price will be made with the final progress payment for the <br />work if demobilization has been completed. If the price bid for mobilization and <br />demobilization is greater fifteen percent (15°~) of the total contract price, invoices <br />supporting the mobilization costs will be required before payment is approved. <br />TASK 2 TRASH REMOVAL <br />The entire mine site, as delineated in the field during the pre-bid meeting will be cleaned of <br />all debris not limited to wooden structures, piping, plastic garbage, cans, etc. AIt trash will <br />be hauled off and taken to acounty-approved landfill (approximately 25 miles one way). <br />Regrading will not commence until an inspection has been made by the PROJECT <br />MANAGER to verify site cleanup. Concrete foundations and/or slabs, concrete walls <br />(powder magazine), and cinder blocks may be used first against the toe of the cut banks <br />prior to further regrading. <br />Measurement and Payment <br />Payment for this task will be reflected in a lump sum bid under Item 2 on the Bid Schedule. <br />This lump sum bid will cover payment of all costs for excavation, transport, and disposal <br />of all trash on the site. There will be no measurement for payment. Payment shall be as <br />this task is completed and approved by the PROJECT MANAGER. Payment for this task <br />shall be made only for that amount shown under Item 2 of the Bid Schedule. Any or all <br />incidental costs incurred by the CONTRACTOR shall be reflected in each Bid Item or shall <br />be paid at the CONTRACTOR's expense. <br />Task 3 SITE REGRADING <br />The entire mine site as affected by the previously permitted mining operation will be <br />regraded to conform to original contours. Initially, concrete debris and coal waste will be <br />used at the toe of the existing cut slopes. Regrading will not resume until all coal wastes <br />7 <br />
