divide the quarry into operational areas, with mining and reclamation information for
each area. A set of cross sections (Exhibit B) applies to the maps in exhibit A, which
reference the Long Term Mining Plan, Final Grading and Reclamation Plan. 7'he cross
sections aze East to West on north map gridlines and aze referenced to full widt.~ or area
as indicated by the letter (i.e. - N 101,800 A = A band).
The Maps also show the following:
• Immediately adjacent surface owners are shown on the Permit Boundaries M:ip.
• Creeks -The only creek in the quarry area crosses [he hogback from west to east
(map bcc-1360) between coordinates E119,500 and N120,000. The water source and
flow is primarily seepage from the Monroe Gravity Canal carrying irrigation water in
season. A pipe was installed at this point [o prevent water loss into the gwtrry cuts
north and south of the creek.
• Irrigation Ditches -The Water Supply and Storage Company Larimer County Canal
flows northward, east of the cement plant. The Windsor Reservoir an3 Canal
Company Flood Ditch crosses the hogback and then flows northward at .s higher
elevation. The Monroe Gravity Canal controlled by the North Poudre Irrigation
Company is shown on map bcc-1361.
• • Roads -Larimer County Road 56E borders the south end of the affected area.. There
are no oil or gas wells or pipelines.
• Buildings -All buildings shown aze the property of Holnam Inc.
• Power Lines - An REA power line crosses the A-Band quarry at the Flood Ditch
crossing (map sheets 3 and 4), and proceeds north on Holnam property ea:,t of the
Flood Ditch. A Platte River Power Authority power line runs north and sout;i on the
west side of, and parallel to, the A-Band overburden piles. All other pov,er lines
within the designated affected lands are the property of Holnam.
• Communication Lines - A buried telephone line runs along the east side of County
Road 21C.
Topography is shovm on the maps by 5-foot contour interval lines, as well as
numerous spot elevations.
A total affected area (permit area) of 1280 acres is outlined on the maps. The bonded
area within the permit boundary comprises an area of 683 acres, and is designated by
a dashed line. The estimated affected azea to be utilized for CKD disposa.. is 306
acres. Surety will be posted in increments as the quarry progresses. Areas disturbed
prior to July 1, 1976, are included within the permit boundary, but will not be bonded
• until operations or reclamation dictates their re-disturbance.
