~.
2. As regards runoff the Farnsworths included as a part of the
expansion permit information sent to the public, a Colorado
Department of Health letter dated January 24, 1994 (copy enclosed)
that indicates they don't intend to discharge runoff water into the
river. In the meeting they stated that their intent was to pump all
mine water into the river. They also stated that they would be
pumping enough water off the site to lower the ground water a
substantial amount through out the area and even off their property.
I would"think-that such a drastic environmental change to the area
should have some study. What wetlands are affected by this lowered
water table?
3. What will be the effect of this mine effluence on endangered fish
species and water quality for down stream users?
4. Is there currently water test data from the river at this site that can
be used as a guideline for future water tests?
5. Is there a program for regular water testing in place?
6. The river crossing that they propose does not take into consideration
trout migration between the upper & lower the river caused by
seasonal water fluctuation.
7. The current operating times sited by the proposal are Monday
through Friday 7:30 Am to 5:Pm. At this meeting the Farnsworths
requested these times be extended to 7:Am to 7:Pm Monday through
Saturday. In the north fork valley there is a down stream wind that
starts at 5Pm daily-and would cause all dust and noise from the mine
to be blown down the valley at the most pleasant time of the day. As
regards Saturday how will we be compensated for the noise and dust
disruption of half of our weekend?
~in ~ tell{
~"~~F2~`1 QcL~,~n
Riley & Dorothy Dunn
2
