Corrective actions will consist of the following:
1. Remove the existing concrete slabs and process to appropriate size
2. Regrade the existing slope to 2.5:1
3. Place 2 foot thickness of rubblized concrete on slope, extending 3 feet
below existing river thalweg
4. Veneer the rubblized concrete with crushed stone riprap, per UD&FCD
5. Cover the riprap with top-soil, re-seed with native grasses
6. Stake with willows, per UD&FCD's planting guidelines.
Phase 2
After the South Reservoir has been mined, trees located in the Central Reservoir
area will be removed as part of the stripping operations. Mining will begin south
of the existing processing plant, and progress southward. The oil pipelines
throughout the Central reservoir will be relocated to the western permit boundary,
prior to mining, to minimize interruptions to the oil production on the property.
Since the slurry wall and compacted clay liner will have already been constructed
in Phase 1, the Applicant anticipates no adverse effects of the dry-mining
operations on nearby wells. Excess overburden and clay materials will be sold
off-site, and excavated shale material will be utilized for slope backfill as much as
possible, to maximize the storage capacity of the water reservoirs.
Brighton Mine Conditional Use Permit 24
' CAMAS Colorado, INC.
20007WD
May 2000
