BONDING (2.05.4(2)(b) <br />The reclamation costs section of the permit application, found in Volume 12, Section <br />9.8, has been reviewed by the Division. The bond amount has been calculated using the <br />presumption that the mine ceased to exist at the end of each year of the permit term. <br />The "Worst-case" year was determined to be the fifth year of the permit term. The total <br />cost for reclamation at this time based upon the Division hiring a private contractor <br />performing aZl work is 52,631,945 as calculated by P6F7. <br />XXI. SEALING OF DRILLED ffOLES AND UN DERC,ROUND OPEF.'INGS (2.05.4(2)(4), 4.07) <br />The application is found to be in compliance with Rules 2.05.4(2)(g) and 4.07. Information <br />demonstrating compliance is in Volume 3 .Section 25, page 104. <br />XXZZ. SUBSIDENCE (2,05.x(5 <br />Due to the fact that Pittsburg and Midway Coal Company utilizes surface mining methods <br />at the Edna mine, this section does not apply. <br />XXIII. SPECIAL CATEGORIES OF MINING. (OTHER THAN AVF AND PRIME FARMLANDS) (2.06, <br />9.22, 9.23, 4.26, 4.27, 4.28 and 9.29) <br />The only special categoru of mining proposed by Pittsburg and Midway Coal Company is <br />proceeding with surface coal mining operations on a steep slope. The primary access <br />road to the mine is identified as "the Goat Trail" segment Z-I' on the roadway profile <br />diagrams, Exhibit 3.5-13, and the road man, Exhibit 3.5-1. The toad is constructed on <br />a very steep slope, but the grar.'e is r.ot excessive. In reclamation cf the road, the , <br />operator indicates that approximate original contour k•i11 net he reached.
