(S) Coal Processing Waste and Non -Coal Processing Waste
(a)
If the additional studies concerning groundwater within the waste disposal
site have been completed this information should be submitted.
(b)
The applicant is proposing to reclaim the waste piles with final slopes of
approximately 3:1. Past experience has shown that 3:1 slopes will tend to
erode. The applicant needs to provide a detailed discussion of how the
slopes will be reclaimed to prevent excessive erosion (e.g., the use of
mulch or protective mats, seed mixes that will be used, etc.).
Section 2.05.4 Reclamation Plan
(2) Description of Plan
(b)
The applicant should include the bid package and the estimate submitted by
the subcontractor to support the reclamation cost estimate given in the
permit application.
(c)
The reclaimed contours maps indicate that some of the reclaimed slopes in
the "D" Portal area will be approximately 3:1. The applicant needs to pro-
vide a detailed discussion of how these relatively steep slopes will be re-
claimed to prevent excessive erosion.
-12-
