Based on an AVS check conducted by the Division <br />on January 24, 1997 for Minor Revision 15, Permit C-81-011 was made subject to Stipulation <br />ST-2-1 which required resolution of five Alabama state violations related to Sunland Mining <br />Corporation's owner. AVS checks for Renewal RN-03, however, found those violations aze no <br />longer linked to Sunland's owner; therefore, the Division withdrew Stipulation ST-2-l on April <br />9, 1998. <br />Description of the Environment <br />Topography <br />The topography of the general azea is one of a semi-arid steppe region with numerous dip slopes <br />formed by differential erosion of the strata. Elevations within the permit azea range from 8000 <br />feet on the northeast/southwest trending ridgeline to 7400 feet along the banks of Trout Creek. <br />Within the permit azea, rangeland is restricted to the high plateau and the valley bottom; whereas, <br />the steep-sided valley is utilized by wildlife; Previously, underground mining has occurred <br />within the permit area. <br />Aper No. 2 Mine, C-81-01 I 4 Amended December 21, 1998 <br />
