Hawk's Nest Mine- Hazardous Material Removal <br />PI{A-6-1001 <br />ProjeM Description - - <br />HAZARDOUS MATERIAL TESTING AND DISPOSAL <br />Location <br />Hawk's Nest Coal Mine is located roughly 22 miles east of Hotchkiss, Colorado in Gunnison <br />County atong a segment of old State Highway 133. The (4) SS-gallon drums aze located <br />roughly 20 feet off the old county road up a hill roughly 3:1 slope. Barrels aze full and show <br />signs of leaking. Please see attached map for location. <br />Description <br />This specification covers all work required to sample, analyze and dispose of 4 SS-gallon <br />drums containing waste oil and other potential hazardous material in accordance with all <br />State and Federal Laws. The work also covers the sampling, analyzing and disposing of <br />contaminated soil and debris from the 4 SS-gallon drums in accordance with all State and <br />Federal Laws. The project is divided into two tasks, sampling and disposing of the material <br />in the 4 55 gallon drums. Each task shall be bid separately and awarded to the lowest <br />bidder. <br />I. am lin <br />Part 1 of the project involves sampling the material in each SS gallon drum. The <br />CONTRACTOR shall sample and analyze four (4) SS-gallon drums and associated <br />contaminated soil using the Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) or <br />the best technology currently available. The CONTRACTOR must have all required <br />EPA ID's (hazardous waste identification numbers) in the State of Colorado to <br />perform such sampling. Samples shall be taken by September 30, 1995. <br />All records regarding sampling must be submitted to the PROJECT MANAGER, <br />and must comply with all State and Federal Rules and Regulations. Barrels must be <br />labeled to correlate with each sample. <br />Measurement & Payment <br />Measurement for payment will be based on documented sampling results submitted <br />to the PROJECT MANAGER. Payment for this task will be reflected in a unit price <br />bid under item 1 of the Bid Schedule. This unit price bid will cover payment of all <br />costs of materials, accessories, labor, maintenance, operating supplies, salaries of <br />operators and any other expenses incidental to the specification and bid item(s). <br />Payment shall be as this task is completed and approved by the PROJECT <br />MANAGER. Payment for this task shall be made only for that amount shown under <br />
