Shanta aeries is the soil
that was originally mapped in this location in the Fremont County Soil
Survey. The information below is a summary of what I found. The soil 1
looked at is similar to the Shanta soil, except the dark surface colors
(and the organic matter) are lacking. Also, the structure in the surface
horizon is massive, instead of granular and subangular blocky. ICS at or
saturated hydraulic conductivity (replaces permeability) for the whole
soil is moderately high.
0 - l0 inches.
color: 10YR 6/3 dry, SOYR 4/3 moist
texture: .loam
structure: massive
p8: e_0
10 - 17 inches
color: lOYR fi/3 dry, lUYR 3/3 moist
texture: loam
structure: weak fine subangular blocky
pA: 8.0
17 - 21 inches
color: 1DYR 6/3 dry, 10YR 4/3 moist
texture: loam
structure: weak moderate subangular blocky
pH: 8.4
21 - 98 Inches
color: SOYR 6/h dry, 10YR 4/3 moist
texture: silt loam
structure: weak moderate subangular blocky
pH: 8.8
if you have any quesClons, give me a call.
Sincerely,
Laura Craven, Soil.
