A rear entry is through the center of the shed addition on the west side. All of
the windows have been rema~ed from the structure. Two modified window openings aze present on
the south elevation, two are deft of center on the west elevation, and one ie right of center on the
north elevation. The condition of Structure 4 is poor. An opening beneath the house on the north
side shows that a major floor joist is broken. Some rot of roof elements on the north side of the
structure was also noted. In addition, the interior of the structure has been gutted.
In front of Structures 3 and 4 >s a recent wood frame structure used to stare a fire hose. The
structure measures 6 by 6 Ceet, has a gable roof, and is completely covered with corrugated sheet
metal. It has a door on the east end of the south elevation.
Structure 5 is a residential cottage built in 1903 and used in more recent years for mine drill
core storage. The main wing of the structure measures 21 by 26 feet, oriented southwest to
northeast. It has a composition shingle hip roof and clapboard siding with plain endboards. The
doors and windows are surrounded by plain board molding. A stave pipe projects through the
southeast elope of the roof. Attached to the northeast end of the northwest elevation is a 9 by l6
foot (northeaet•eouthweet axis) shed addition. This is covered with shiplap aiding. An 8 by LO foot
(northeast•southwest axis) coal storage shed addition has been attached to the southwest end of the
southeast elevation. This has horizontal boards nailed onto the inside of the walls, leaving the wall
etude exposed. The entry to tl~e building is through s 6 foot square vestibule on the southeast end
of the northeast elevation. This ie Bided with vertical tongue and groove and is reached by a set of
wooden steps. A six light fixed window is on the northwest side of the entry and an empty window
opening is on the southeast elide. A pair of two over two double hung wood each windows arc
present on center of the southeast elevation. Another two over two window is to the right of the
entry on the northeast elevation with a four by four side eliding wood sash widow farther to the
right.
On the north side of Sneffela Creek u a mostly collapsed wood frame structure (Structure 67.
The standing portion of the structure measures about 10 by 16 feet, oriented east to west, with a
collapsed 12 by 20 Coot (north•eouth axis) wing attached to the north aide. Walls of the structure are
of vertical boards partly covered with corrugated sheet metal. The small portion of gable roof that
remains is also covered with corrugated sheet metal. The function of the structure is not known,
nor is its date of construction. It appears to be greater than 50 years old, however.
Structure 7 is located just east of the manager's residence (Structure 1). It is a 6 foot square
woad frame structure with a gable roof. It is covered with ahiplap siding with plain endboards. A
five panel door is on the southeast end of the northeast elevation. The structure has the
appearance of an outhouse, but. its function is not known. Its construction is similar in appearance
to that of Structures 1.6, so is probably of early vintage, perhaps ae early as 1903.
Structure 8 is a 24 by 30 Coot wood frame scale house, oriented northwest to southeast, built
in 1984 or 1985. It is covered with corrugated sheet metal and waferboard siding and has a sheet
metal shed roof Sliding doors allowed vehicle aceese into the southwest aide of the structure; only
one of the door remains. Double doors are present on the northeast end of the southeast side.
Structure 9 is a 28 by 60 Coot sheet metal storage building, oriented generally north to
south, built in 1984 or 1985. It has a gable roof and is constructed on a concrete foundation. A
gabled projection extends over the entrance on the north end of the west elevation. This entrance
includes a top lifting garage door with a regular doorway w the right.
