Canany
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
We have completed a review of the aspen study report prepared by the USFS Rocky
Mountain Research Station (RMRS), which you submitted. Our review (enclosed)
includes a brief summary of the study plan, and comments and requests regarding the
report, including plans for future research associated with the aspen plots. The comments
also reflect consideration of information provided during Dr. Shepperd's presentation at
the Seneca Mine office on February 2, 2006. As you know, there may be an opportunity
for cost share funding through OSM, on a year by year basis. We would encourage you
to consider that option, and we would like to discuss that possibility with you and Dr.
Shepperd, or other appropriate RMRS staff, at your earliest convenience.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
~.
Sincerely,
l
Daniel T.
