' SUBURBAN SAND AND GRAVEL
ROAD RUNNERS REST 11
' CASE #'s 13-BaCP d 20-92-C(A)
' imate since the State Engineers records are vague on the exact
location of some wells. The numbers in the left column of the
' table correspond with the numbers beside each well on the map.
Review of the State Engineers records indicate there is 1
well within 200 feet of this site. we own 6 wells on the site
that will be affected by this dewatering and three of them will
' be removed as mining progresses. From the water Table Contours
map contained in this submittal we find that the ground water
' flow in this area is from the southeast as it approaches the
river and then runs parallel to the river.
Review of available documents from other permit applications
' suggest a possibility that as the lake is pumped down, the draw
down could extend to 900 feet from the lake area. If this is the
' case, our dewatering could affect 13 wells around or on the
facility. Four of the wells are deep domestic well varying in
' depth form 450 feet to 570 feet deep. These wells will not be
impacted by surface aquifer dewatering. The remaining 9 wells
' are all surface wells and average 39.4 feet deep. Three of these
are domestic wells that will most likely be replaced as part of
the Rocky Mountain Arsenals mitigation plan. The rest are non
' exempt irrigation wells.
The wells that could possibly be impacted are those along
' the eastern side of the property. While these are up gradient
from the excavation area they fall in the drawdown area around
' the mine. Since they are up gradient the impacts of mining will
be less because the ground water has to flow thru them to get to
' the excavated area. One factor that will lessen our impact is
the fact that there is a free body lake immediately east of
Brighton Road. With the lake being in close proximity to the
' wells the ground water table will tend to keep the ground satu-
rated to a higher level that if it did not exist. Well # 1 is
' the closest to the dewatered area. This well has had numerous
problems in the past that have been related to its age. The
' owner has attempted to have Albert Frei and Sons, inc. and
' 6
