Therefore, we propose the following diversity standard based
on the operators baseline vegetation cover data.
Diversity will be considered acceptable if sampling demonstrates that three
species of cool season grasses, two species of fortis and three species of
shrubs and trees have been established. In addition, no one species shall
comprise less than 3% of the total cover or more than 40% of the total cover.
This standard will be acceptable for all areas (i.e., refuse pile, truck dump,
etc.).
Stipulation No. 6: The Division finds the proposed cover standards
acceptable. In addition, the proposed woody plant density standard for the
truck dump is acceptable.
The following standards for productivity will be acceptable to the Division.
Vegetation Type
Pinyon-Juniper woodland
Rubber Rabbitbrush shrubland
Big Sagebrush shrubland
Riparian woodland
Meadow grassland
Haylands (hayed
Haylands(pastured)
Productivity Standards
250 lbs/ac
550 lbs/ac
1500 lbs/ac
1500 lbs/ac
1500 lbs/ac
5000 lbs/ac
5000 lbs/ac
If sampling demonstrates that 90% of the mean of the above standard at 90%
confidence level is met revegetation will be considered acceptable.
cc: Ed Bischoff
/ph
Doc.
