i
~ MANAG~NT sY .
On January 19 through March 12, 1995, Judi Halasi performed a
cultural resources inventory of four parcels of land (about 105
acres) and 1.9 mi of road in Douglas County. The survey was
performed for Mr. Jim Barrett of Centennial Materials of Castle
Rock, Colorado. The proposed project is a light aggregate
1 quarry, with mining occurring at two locations and the associated
haul road and stone stockpile area. A site file search was
conducted at the Colorado Office of Archaeology and Historic
Preservation in Denver. There were no previously recorded sites
in the project area. Two prehistoric sites, 5DA1056 and 5DA1057,
three historic sites, 5DA1158, SDA1059, and SDA1062, and two
isolated artifacts, 5DA1060 and 5DA1061, were recorded as a
result of this survey.
Three of the sites lie outside the area of direct project
effects, 5DA1056, SDA1057, and 5DA1061. Two of the sites,
SDA1058, and SDA1062, are in the project area. None of the sites
are recommended as eligible to the National Register of Historic
Places.

I I

1
L

iii
