James Dillie
Annette Quill
Dave Akers
November 19, 1999
Page 2
the Design Report document, and the unit cost per square foot presented in the October
31, 1999, Preliminary West Pit Cost Estimate, RMC notes that the estimated cost of the
wall is more than twice the amount originally suggested. Second, the success of the
slurry wall as a contamination barrier is dependent upon lowering the water level in the
West Pit behind the slurry wall. In order to assure the success of the slurry wall, BMRI
needs to commit to a long-term pump and treat system, which the present documents do
not do.
Please consider these comments in your review of the TR-26 at DMG and the
NPDES permit application at CDPHE.
ur ruly,
Lori Potter
lpotter@khgk.com
LPlsjm
Enclosures
cc: Roger Flynn w/enclosures
CCCD w/enclosures
Dean Massey w/enclosures
P li W 1 001'.om\IV dll¢ 11-1999 wp1
