Population parameters of biomass,
density and average size are lower than those at station #1. This can be correlated to the
better aquatic habitat conditions upstream. Station #2 was located ir. cottonwood/sagebrush
habitat characterized by unstable, erosive soils with few pools and overhead wver. Indirect
influences of road construction and erosion from the mine sites can be attributed to some of the
the poor habitat conditions, but mostly to soil and habitat type. However, a reproducing
population of small size brook trout exist in this section Beaver aze numerous downstream, and
are creating habitat conducive to brook trout. Brown trout aze coexisting with the brook trout
at present.
