Mining related materials and debris to be disposed of under Section 4 of <br />the Special Conditions and which are composed of concrete, masonry, wood, <br />or metal items other than barrels, buckets, cans, or other items that <br />would create a void within the mine opening fill can be incorporated <br />within the fill if desired. However, the upper 4 ft. of the fill area <br />must consist of earth fill material only. <br />4. Location Monument - A new five foot (5') long three inch (3") diameter <br />galvanized steel pipe sha 11 be installed above the backfilled incline in <br />the location shown on attached drawing sheet 7 of 9, The lower two feet <br />(2') of pipe shall be set in concrete a minimum of one foot (1') diameter <br />and the upper one foot (1') shall extend above grade. A brass cap shall <br />be grouted into pipe by the CONTRACTOR using a non-shrink grout, such as <br />Moly Parabond, Pour Rock, or Quick Crete. The brass cart will be supplied <br />by the OWNER. <br />2.4 Measurement and Payment <br />No measurement for payment shall be made for inclined entry mine seal <br />construction. Payment shall be made for the lump sum bid price <br />established on the Invitation and Bid Form. The price bid shall include <br />all of the CONTRACTOR'S cost of whatever nature to furnish materials, <br />prepare the mine opening, construct the steel backstop and concrete block <br />wail, backfill the remaining portion of the opening to the surface, and <br />install the location monument. <br />3.1 Description <br />3.0 MINE VENTILATION ENTRY SEAL <br />This specification covers all materials and work required to construct <br />concrete block wall or bulkhead seal within the mine ventilation drift <br />entry at the Sunlight mine. <br />3.2 Materials <br />The concrete masonry units, mortar and grout to be used to construct the <br />concrete block wall shall be the same as those specified under <br />Section III,2,2 of the Special Conditions. The drainage pipe material <br />shall consist of any of the following types of pining or their equivalent: <br />1) Corrugated steel pipe, 6"-8" diameter, 16-18 gage; <br />2) Standard mechanical service pipe, 6"-8" inside diameter, <br />min, schedule 40; <br />3) Cast iron pipe, 6"-8" inside diameter; <br />4) Standard strength vitrified clay pipe, 6"-8" inside diameter; or <br />5) Non-reinforced non-pressure concrete pipe, 6"-8" inside diameter, <br />The piping material used must be free of cracks, corrosion, or other <br />types of wear or deterioration which would significantly reduce the <br />strength of the material below manufactured design strength, <br />-1- <br />
