Will Reclamation Plan Achieve Final Land Use of Cropland? <br />Construction Materials Rule 3.1.1 requires the proposed reclamation plan <br />to achieve the final land use proposed, in this case cropland. <br />2. The Objectors assert that the Applicant failed to comply with the <br />minimum requirements of Construction Materials Rule 3.1.1. <br />The Applicant intends to grade the pit floors to 2% over 156 acres, which <br />approximates their current grade. According to the Applicant, this slope <br />will allow farm equipment to traverse the area. A specific crop has not <br />been identified because the applicant wants the option of choosing the <br />most economically viable crop at the time of planting. In order to <br />establish a bond amount, the Division selected alfalfa for cropland use due <br />to its low maintenance and costs. Other mining and reclamation plans in <br />the area have achieved success in restoring land to its intended useful <br />purpose. <br />4.
