RE: Renewal of Summit County Conditional Use Perrnlt and Amendments <br />for Maryland Creek Ranch Sand and Gravel <br />Application Form <br />Attached. <br />Statement of interest in property <br />L. G. Everist, Inc., is the sole owner of the property known as Maryland Creek Ranch as is <br />recorded in the Summit County Assessor's Office. We hereby request renewal of the Summit <br />County Conditional Use Permit for Maryland Creek Ranch. <br />Legal description artd acreage <br />The legal description of the property is Parts of Sections 15, 22, and 23, Township 4 South, <br />Range 78 West, Summit County, Colorado. The permitted acreage is about 216 acres. The <br />property is located approximately 5 miles north of the Town of Silverthome, on the west side of <br />State Highway 9. <br />Review of conditional use permit and amendment conditions <br />The conditional use permit for Maryland Creek Ranch Sand and Gravel Operation allows for <br />aggregate (sand and gravel) mining and processing, and concrete and asphalt production, as <br />well as associated uses: L.G. Everist is in compliance with alt permit and subsequent <br />amendment conditions and hereby requests renewal of the conditional use permit and <br />subsequent amendments. <br />The use is consistent with the Countywide Comprehensive Plan and the Lower Blue Master <br />Plan. The use is in harmony with the general purpose, goals, and objectives and standards of <br />the A-1 zone district, which includes the use of natural resources, and is consistent with public <br />health, safety and welfare. The use is in harmony and compatible with surrounding land uses <br />and the neighborhood in that all potential impacts have been mitigated. The use does not <br />create a substantial adverse impact on adjacent properties or on services and infrastructure. <br />Adequate services and infrastructure are available to serve the use for access, water, sewer, <br />and utilities. <br />Permitted Uses and Activities <br />Site preparation has been conducted according to approved plans, including location and <br />construction of site access and haul roads, topsoil and overburden removal and stockpiling, and <br />drainage improvements. <br />Surface and subsurface drainage improvements have been completed in accordance with <br />plans, including culverts throughout the processing plant which allow for water flow to the <br />detention ponds. The ponds have been placed as shown on the approved site plan, on either <br />side of the entrance road, with culverts connecting them. <br />LM/MCRcuprenewal-summit-070207.doc 2 <br />
