--
THE ROCKCASTLE COMPANY
RECEIVED
December 7, 1984
DEC 101984
MINED LAND RECUIMATIDN DIV1910N
Colo. Dept of Natural Resources
Page 2
Mr. Dan Mathews
attachment from Rocky Mountain surveyors and submitted previously
at the November 2, 1984 meeting. Calculations are attached to
show the amount of material necessary for buttressing or laying
back the slopes to conform to regulations in conformance with
"worst case" analysis.
B. The application discusses post-mining land use of the main haul/
access road. Within one year of permit issuance, the permittee
will submit a plan detailing culvert installations.
Stipulation No. 12:
A. The Pit 4 haul road cut slope and the Pit 1, 2, and 3 access
road slide areas would be monitored on a monthly basis during the
active mining phase unless weather or field conditions prohibit
access just as in the case of monitoring of surface water sites
and wells. More frequent monitoring, of course, will be made as
required by weather or run-off conditions. A maintenance log
will be made showing the date of correction, an estimate of the
amount of material removed, and the type and quantity of equip-
ment employed. Correction would be done on a case by case and
area by area basis and would include removal of material, the
building of buttresses, and the laying back of slopes. Reveg-
etation would be accomplished as required.
B. Prior to cessation of mining, the permittee will submit a plan
for maintenance of the post-mining land use.
Stipulation No. 13:
Bond in the amount of $ 244,325.00 will be submitted within 180 days
of the publication of the CMLRD Board's decision. The calculation of
the bond amount is attached.
It would be our understanding that the combination of responses, when in-
corporated in the application, would satisfy the stipulations and eliminate
them from the proposed decision document.
We believe we have reached agreement on all stipulated issues with the
P. 0. BOX 1038, JANESVILLE, WISCONSIN 53545
