BOX 225 <br />Mr, Edward Bischoff <br />Senior Reclamation Specialist <br />Mined Land Reclamation Division <br />423 Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203, <br />Dear Mr, Bischoff: <br />In view of our recent discussions and your letter dated April <br />18, 1984 concerning the reclamation plan and timetable submitted <br />on behalf of GEC Minerals, Inc, and dated April 11, 1984, GEC <br />Minerals, Znc, would like to amend the April 11, 1984 reclama- <br />tion plan and timetable as follows: <br />1. GEC has secured a 1977 D-8 bulldozer which is current- <br />ly located in Magnolia, Arkansas. The necessary ar- <br />rangements will be made to transport the bulldozer to '~ <br />Colorado and begin backfilling the West Pit no later <br />then during the last half of May. <br />2, Concurrent with the backfilling of the <br />will conduct a survey of the mine area <br />of calculating the final postmining to <br />pleting a reclamation schedule for the <br />vey in general will include Stockpiles <br />with the East and West pits, <br />West Pit, GEC <br />for the purpose <br />~ography and com- <br />area, The sur- <br />#1 and #2 along <br />GEC will begin soliciting bids for the survey immediate- <br />ly in an effort to have the survey completed by the end <br />of May, The mass balance calculations, a final post- <br />mining topography map and a reclamation schedule will be <br />submitted in a timely manner after the survey is com- <br />pleted. <br />3. GEC understands that current obligations require Stock- <br />pile #1 be reclaimed to the configuration per Map 23 <br />of the permit application which makes it very likely <br />there is excess material in the Stockpile. <br />
