for the destruction in this area due to their approval of the
pond which was installed above the old underground coal mine.
Sun Coal had decided not to use the area as a loadout due to the
unstable condition in the area. The many boulders at the bottom
of steep out-slope do not grow grass! The area must be reclaimed
and boulders removed. This is not part of the road and never has
been.
6 The areas along or beside the road that require
reclamation are:
a The old surface mine above the compressor shed was used
and road was build thru it by Sun Coal. Why hasn't this been
reclaimed? Ponds must be left intact when or if reclamation is
accomplished.
b Cuts which were made in the cut slope to assist in road
building were never back filled, just left to cause erosion.
c Lower Coal View bench still has its excavated high wall
and eroded out-slope. How many more years?
d The Coal View bench (upper) and areas close by were
excavated by Sun to explore etc. They used the areas after the
77 law but they too have never been reclaimed and reseeded. Also
not a part of the road.
Summary---- The forgoing subjects must be fully addressed
soon. We do not intend to again wait years. The mining ended in
1981 and we have indured numerous hardships. The takings must
cease! Due to the fact that major reclamation still must be
accomplished we request that bond be increased.
we are willing to discuss a possible taking over of all
s
