Southfield Bond Estimate
May 20, 1994
Page 2
plan for the final reclamation of the refuse pile. He said
that stockpiles 4 and 5 are to be constructed for reclamation
of the refuse pile. However, he said he's not sure if this
alternate plan will be presented at the renewal, and he
suggested to complete the bond I should use a borrow area or
import material, and they would probably consider either as a
final plan.
I would recommend that this issue be resolved as soon as
possible.
6. Topsoil stockpiles M-4 and M-5 are proposed to be constructed.
I was not given any indication as to when they might be
created. The piles, if constructed, are intended for the
reclamation of the refuse pile.
7. Tom Leidich and Al Weaver said that concrete will not be used
to backfill the portals. Concrete will most likely be buried
in the vicinity as there is a low spot on the site, and
material from the facilities area will be used to backfill the
portals.
8. Tom Leidich stated that the drainage and sediment control map
provides the current topography of the area. Mr. Leidich also
stated that the highwall is located at the northwest corner of
the east loadout. It is about 10 feet high at 1 1/2:1 side
slopes and will be reduced to 3:1 side slopes.
9. The dimensions of some of the buildings have been provided and
will be reviewed.
cc: David Berry
CEJ/014RE1
