proved Uses
Forest Uses
AgAcuttural Use Requirements for Forest Use: For the following crop
and forestry uses, follow PPE and Reentry insWctions in the'Agdcuiturel
Use Requirements' section of this labd.
Non-crop Uses Such As Rightsof-Way, Industrial
Sites, Rangeland and Permanent Pastures, Non-
irrigation Dkch Banks and Wildlife Openings.
IUse Requirements for Noncroplantl Areas: No Worker Pstection
Standard worker entry restdctions or worker notification requirements
apply when this product is applied to nontroplantl areas.
Low Volume Basal Bark Treatment
To control susceptible woody plants with stems less than 6 inches in
basal diameter, apply Pathfinder II with a backpack or knapsack sprayer
using low pressure and a solid cone or flat fan nozzle. Spray the basal
parts of brush and tree tanks in a manner which fttaroughty wets the
lower 12 to 15 inches of stems, inducting the root kx>flar area, but not to
the point of mnoft. Herbicide concentration should vary with s¢e and
susceptibility d species treated. Apply at any time, including the winter
monUS, except when snow or water prevem spraying to the ground line.
Treatment of Cut Stumps
To wntmt resprouting, appy undiluted Pathfinder If io wet the area
adjacent to the cambium and bark arourM the entire circumference and
the sides of cut stumps, Sides of stumps should be thoroughly wetted
Oown to the root collar area, but riot to the point of nmott. Treatrnents
may ba applied throughout the year, except when snow or water prevent
spreYing to me ground line. Control may be reduced with treatment
during pedods of moisture stress as in late summer.
Streamgne Basal Bark Treatrnent (Southern States)
7o wntroi or suppress susceptble woody plants for conifer release or in
rangeland antl pasture, apply Pathfinder 11 with a backpack or knapsack
sprayer using equipment which provides a directed straightstream spray.
Apply sufTidem sprey to one side of stems less than 3 inches in basal
diameter to form a treated zone that is 6 inches in height. When the
optimum amount of spray mixture is applied, the treated zone should
widen to encircle Ne stem within approximately 30 minutes. Treat both
sides of stems which are 3 to 4 inches fn basal diameter. Direc the
spray a[ bark [hat is approximately 12 to 24 inches above ground. Pines
(lobldty, slash, shoNeaF, and Virginia) up to 2 inches in diameter breast
height (dbh) can be wnfrolled try directing the spray at the point
approximately 4 feet above ground. Best results are achieved when
applirakions are made to young vigorousty growrng stems whist have not
developed the thicker bads characteristic of slower growing, understory
trees in okfer stands. This technique is oat recommended for scrub and
live oak species, inducting blackjack, turkey, post, live, duejack ant
laurel oaks. Apply fnmr approximately 6 weeks prior b hardwood leaf
expansion in iha sprtng uritrl approximately 2 months after leaf expansion
is cemplMed. Do not apply when snow or water prevent spraying at the
desired height above ground level.
