Mid-Term Apex No. 2 Mine -3- November 19, 1985
Field parameter quality monitoring and quantity monitoring of the
well and stream should continue on the same schedule as agreed upon
in the latest revision.
Apex needs to compile a revised monitoring list in accordance with
the above recommendations to be inserted in the application. This
revised monitoring list should be included with the mid-term
revision to allow for public comment. The submittal should be in a
form that can easily be inserted in the application.
2. Mine Plan Mao Update
Updated copies of the mine plan map should be submitted which show the
present extent of the mine workings. Implementation of subsidence
monitoring is required prior to extraction of any zone three reserves.
A periodic updating of the mine plan map is warranted to keep the
Division informed on underground activity.
3. Underground Development Waste
The permit application mentions that in some instances, underground
development waste might be disposed of a the Routt County Dump. This
is not approvable under the regulations, which require that all
underground development waste be disposed of in a permit area. A
revised page 181 will need to be submitted, deleting any reference to
disposal of underground development waste at the Routt County Dump.
4. Bond Deficiencies
Modifications to the Letter of Credit as outlined in the enclosed
letter dated May 15, 1985, must be submitted by February 1, 1986. A
number of requirements with regard to proper execution of Letters of
Credit were inadvertently overlooked at the time of acceptance. The
Division is attempting to bring all bonds into compliance during the
mid-term review process.
/ph
Doc. No. 4862
