A total of 6.54 acres of wetlands will be impacted as a result of mining operations. Impacts include 5.44 acre of
oxbow wetlands and 1.10 acre of isolated oxbow and tailwater wetlands.. This amount of disturbance represents
the greatest acreage of wetland avoidance economically feasible for the project. As mitigation for disturbance of
the oxbow channel wetlands, the applicant proposes to create 3.50 acres of relocated oxbow channel wetlands on
the project site, and 3.55 acres of wet meadow wetlands on the project site, totaling 7.05 acre of created mitigation

Wetland mitigation will create, enhance, and/or replace wetlands disturbed by the mining sequence. Mitigation

shorelines of the post-mining lakes, these communites will develop during the reclamation of the mining.

Proponent has secured a county permit that allows the mining activities. The proposed alternative is consistent with

6.20 Mineral Needs.
The purpose of this project is to develop a mining operation for the extraction of alluvial aggregate materials for
use in Weld and Lorimer counties, with subsequent development of azeas for commercial, residential, recreational,
and open space uses at the project site. The estimated life of the project is 20 years and will be mined in four
phases. The aggregates will consist of sorted alluvial sand and gravels suitable for use in concrete, and as raw
materials for road base, foundations, and other construction uses. The development of this project location will
