ENVIRONMENT, INC._ PAGE 2
OCTOBER 29, 2005
then as a courtesy sent a second copy to the DoE Rocky Flats
Managers office. This was far above what was required but in the
spirit of cooperation we made the effort to make sure the local
DoE office and representative was contacted in a timely manner.
Per the law we were only required to send a notice to the Omaha
office, but did not want the long distance line of communication
to breakdown.
For example of how hard it is to notify you, during the week
of Sept 19th i attempted to send a thank you letter to Mr. Joseph
Lagare for hie help in resolving some issues with the removed
monitoring wells located on the West Spray Field within the
Church Pit. I first sent it to the address listed in his letter
that was written in May 2005, it came back undeliverable. I then
sent it to a recent Po Box we found in our records used by your
acjency, it came back undeliverable. Upon receiving your letter i
sent it to the Airport Way address, so far so good. As you can
see if we do not have an up-to'date name and mailing address for
who we should contact regarding changes to the reclamation plans
at these mines, it is difficult to contact the surface owners.
In your letter, you specifically request that the operator
be "directed" to notify your agency of any proposed changes. We
do not need to be "directed" to do this, it is the law and be
assured we know what has to be done.
Please accept my thanks for your address and as a courtesy
please keep us informed if and when it changes. Other wise we
will check for the "address of record" and send the notice to the
one we find on file.
Sincerely,
Environment, Inc.
Stevan L. O'Brian
President
cc: Church Ranch, Charles C. McKay
Lakewood Brick and Tile, Thomas Murray
Centennial Aggregates, Paul Tuttle
Division of Minerals and Geology, Bruce Humphries
file
