Long <br />Division Director <br />FROM: Allen Sorenson S <br />RE: Inactive Mine Reclamation at Climax and Henderson Mines <br />The Division has been contacted by Climax Molybdenum Company regarding <br />reclamation of historic mines that are on their property at th.e Climax and <br />Henderson Mines, but are not within the active permit areas, and are not <br />required to be reclaimed under the permits for the mines. Climax <br />Molybdenum Company has requested that someone from IMP inspect the sites, <br />review the proposed plans, suggest any necessary changes to the proposed <br />plans, and then provide a letter stating that the proposed reclamation <br />would be in accordance with the Best Management Practices tlsed by IMP. <br />I have talked this over with Jim McArdle, and he indicated •that you are <br />the man for the jola~ <br />I have attached a preliminary plan for one of the sites, the John Reed <br />Mine which is above the Storke Yard at Climax. The other mine being <br />considered for reclamation is in a gulch above the Henderson Mine <br />facilities on Red Mountain.
