Hydromulch shall consist of a virgin wood fiber mulch <br />manufactured from 100$ whole wood chips. A minimum 30$ of the <br />wood fibers shall be 0.15 inches or longer. The wood fiber shall <br />contain a water-soluble non-toxic dye to insure uniform <br />application. The hydromulch shall include a non-asphalt <br />tackifier to be applied at a rate of 60 pounds per acre or <br />according to manufacturer's recommendations. <br />The CONTRACTOR shall maintain the areas until all work on the entire <br />contract has been completed and accepted. Maintenance will consist <br />of repair of damage caused by wind or water erosion, fire or other <br />causes. Such areas shall be repaired to reestablish the condition <br />and grade of the seedbed and shall be fertilized, reseeded, and re- <br />mulched as directed by the PROJECT MANAGER. <br />AND PAYMENT <br />There will be no measurement for payment made for this bid item. <br />Payment shall be made for the lump sum bid price. The Division has <br />estimated the approximate acreage to be revegetated (Exhibit 2). <br />However, bidders are responsible for making their own acreage <br />determinations. The price bid shall include all of the CONTRACTOR'S <br />cost of labor, material, equipment and all other items necessary to <br />complete the above described work in accordance with the <br />specifications. <br />PROJECT OBSERVATION <br />The PROJECT MANAGER will be at the project site periodically to <br />monitor construction activities and ensure that each work item is <br />completed and constructed to design specifications. The PROJECT <br />MANAGER will be available during regular business hours (8:00 a.m. <br />to 5:00 p.m.) on weekdays. Inspections will not be scheduled on <br />weekend days or holidays without prior approval of the PROJECT <br />MANAGER. The following items must be observed and approved by the <br />PROJECT MANAGER before proceeding with additional work: <br />1. Filter blanket and rip-rap placement on Magpie Creek above <br />Pond A, on the West Pit Diversion outslope to Magpie Creek <br />Diversion and in No Name Drainage. <br />2. Final grading of orphan Pit and Red Rock area prior to <br />topsoil application. <br />3. Completion of fertilization and seeding prior to mulch <br />application. <br />-22- <br />
