SECTION B <br />The following findings and specific approvals are required by Rule 4. <br />I. Roads <br />The road that connects the permit area to Jackson County Road 23a will be retained as <br />part of the final reclamation plan for the Canadian Strip Mine. The roadway was a <br />pre-existing access road to an oil well, and through an executed agreement (Appendix S) <br />will continue in place after reclamation is completed. <br />The road was upgraded to meet the performance standards for haul roads prior to its use <br />as such. The section of haul road between the previous facilities area and the <br />access/enVance haul road has been reclaimed as part of the reclamation plan (page 35). <br />A parking area and ttrrrt-azound have been included in the post-mine design of the road <br />(Figure 2). <br />Information regarding roads is found on page 35 of Volume I, Appendix 5 of Volume I11 <br />and in Figure 2. <br />The operation is in compliance with the requirements of this section. <br />II. Support Facilities <br />The former mine facilities at the Canadian Strip Mine include an office trailer, shop, <br />crushing plant, and truck scale. The former locations of these structures are shown on <br />Figure 2 of the permit document. These facilities have been removed. <br />A description of the former mine facilities, coal handling structures, support facilities is <br />found on pages 30 and 56 of Volume I of the permit application. <br />No specific approvals are required in this section. This mine is in compliance with this <br />section. <br />III. Hydrologic Balance <br />All runoff from the disturbed area is controlled within the sediment control system. Pond <br />No. I is at the northern part of the Pit I area, while Pond No. 2 is in the southern part <br />of the Pit No. 1 azea.
