.."-
Memo to Mike Long - 3 - October 20, 1989
If 2H:1V slopes are used:
1. Approximately 500,000 cubic yards must be moved at a cost of 5350,000.00.
2. Approximately 37,900 cubic yards of topsoil must be moved to cover 47
acres at a cost of 526,500.00.
3. Approximately 47 acres must be revegetated at a cost of $32,900.00
(5700/acre, higher cost because of steeper slopes).
4. Stream channel reconstruction costs would be approximately 535,000.00.
5. Total cost would be approximately 5445,000.00.
6. This cost estimate does not include engineering design or implementation
of measures to ensure erosional stability of steep slopes.
Both cost estimates could be reduced if the east highwall material can be used
for backfill and/or cover material. Neither scenario will require movement of
any material from overburden stockpile one. Neither estimate includes the
cost of maintenance of reclaimed surfaces.
0562E/scg
