The pipes} shall terminate on the accessible side at a pump <br />or check valve at the bottom of a sump not less than 50D gal- <br />• Ions capacity and not less than 2 feet deep. <br />The water pipe(s) shall be sealed with a cap if water is not <br />present. <br />(h) When air leakage occurs through a bulkhead, a sealant acceptable <br />by MSHA shall be applied to stop air leakage. <br />(i) The bulkhead shall be maintained to serve the purpose for which <br />it was intended. <br />(j) A vent pipe(s) shall be installed through the bulkhead and shall <br />extend into a return aircourse. The pipe shall be not more than <br />8 inches in diameter and have a strength equal to Schedule 40 <br />steel pipe and will be located near the roof, but not closer than <br />4 feet from the rib and not on the center line of the bulkhead. <br />The vent pipe(s) shall be packed with coarse gravel, crushed <br />• stone (-1 inch diameter with fines removed) for at least a length <br />of 10 feet, or provided with an equivalent flame arrestor. <br />The ends of the pipe shall be closed with perforated caps, or <br />equivalent. <br />(k) A detailed drawing of the proposed explosion-proof seal construc- <br />tion which shall meet the requirements of Section 75.329-2 is <br />shown in Figure 1. <br />F. Section and Face Ventilation System <br />1. Line brattice will be installed to within 10 feet of the face in each <br />entry that has not been cut through. The intake and return entries <br />will be isolated by block stoppings to and including the third con- <br />netting crosscut outby the face of the entries. The separation of <br />• the entries from this point will be by check curtains. <br />-9- <br />
