Reclamation work to ~e <br />accomplished un er this contract is limited primarily to the Coal <br />Silo area and the Refuse Disposal Area. Project work will involve <br />demolishing and removing the two (2) Coal Silos and the adjacent <br />conveyor system and truck dump scale, removing the coal waste at <br />the coal silo area and disposing of it at the refuse disposal site, <br />subsoil and topsoil replacement on the coal silo area, removal and <br />disposal of 4 55-gallon drums containing potentially hazardous <br />material, repairing/maintaining drainage control structures at the <br />coal silo area, east area and west mine area, and seeding the <br />associated areas. <br />Refuse Pile History <br />~~~~January 1, 1977- Lease of land for sanitary landfill between <br />Albert A. Cockroft and Warren R. Cockroft (lessors) and the Board <br />~~ of County Commissioners of the County of Delta (lessee). <br />August 1, 1978- Western Slope Carbon received a CO and NOV for <br />dumping coal refuse at the Crystal Meadows dump site. The Board <br />ordered Western Slope Carbon to submit a plan for refuse disposal <br />by the next Board Meeting on august 23-24, 1978. <br />August 22, 1978- Western Slope Carbon submits a plan for Hawk's <br />es waste disposal. The company proposed a slurry pipeline as a <br />long term solution, and the Delta County Land_f_ill_ a_s_a_ temporary <br />disposal site. --- - _ - <br />~., <br /> <br />
