The projected advances for the truck/shovel and dragline cuts are shown on
revised A1ap 23. A range diagram of the generalized dragline operation is
shown on t4ap 24A.
Coal Removal
There will be no changes to the current practice of coal fragmentation and
coal loading operations employed in the existing open pit mine.
Backfilling and Grading
The Section 11 X-Seam pit will be mined predominately by dragline methods.
Approximately 2,5 mm BCY of overburden will be mined by truck/shovel methods
and approximately 19.3 mm BCY of overburden will be mined by dragline
methods. Blast casting will be incorporated into the mine plan.
The volumetric balance for the Section 11 X-Seam pit will be accomplished by
hauling in backfill material from the existing open pit. Initial cut material
mined by truck/shovel in Section 11 will be hauled to dump areas in the
existing pit. The initial truck/shovel cut is estimated at approximately 1,3
mm BCY, Therefore, to provide an overall spoil balance approximately 1,3 mm
BCY of material from the top benches of the existing Colowyo pit will be used
as final dump material in the X-Seam pit prior to topsoiling, The X-Seam pit
will be reclaimed in equilibrium with the backfilling and grading balancing
the pit advance once the initial boxcut development is completed.
Post mining contours for the revision area are shown in a revised Map 19 -
Post Mining Topography.
The operator is in compliance with this section.
XV, Explosives - Rule 2.05.3(6)
Tne operator is in compliance with the requirements of this section.
XVI. Backfilling and Grading - Rules 7_.05.3(6), 2.05.3(9). 2.05.4 (2 )(a ),
There have been no significant changes in the backfilling and grading
plan since the original permit review. The operator has been
performing annual post-mining topography surveys and swell factor
monitoring in accordance•witn the approved plan (see 1992 Findings page
37 ). M11onitoring data may be found in the annual reports. During
permit renewal the operator requested a decrease in the monitoring
frequency to every two and a half (2 -1 /2} years. Based on current
data, this request was approved.
Additional information on the backfilling and grading plan for the
Section 11 TR is given in Section XIV -Operations Plan - of this
Findings Addendum document.
The operator is in compliance with the requirements of this section.
-5-
