D. A. Berry 2 October 29, 1997
Springs
Perform a spring survey to locate and identify springs in the area. Perform quarterly
monitoring which will include field parameters and full suite on each spring. After a
year of baseline data is obtained, the monitoring frequency may be changed. It was
agreed during the meeting that the mining operation probably could not affect the
quality of the spring water but it is conceivable the mining operation could affect the
quantity of spring water.
Ponds
The ponds in the area are either spring or run-off fed. For ponds that are spring fed,
pond inflow quantity and quality is identified by the spring monitoring. For ponds that
are run-off fed, pond inflow will be monitored separately. It is not necessary to monitor
the water quality in a pond or the quality of water which discharges from a pond. The
water level in the ponds will be monitored. Run-off into the ponds will be monitored
quarterly which will include field parameters and full suite analyses.
Please call if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
j~~~~
/Jim Stover, P.E.
Consulting Engineer
cc: Wm.
