:.
Ground Water Monitoring Plan
The applicant will conduct monitoring of ground water in a manner
approved by the Division. Baseline data was collected in 1977 and 1978
with construction of the facility beginning in 1977. The ground water
monitoring plan currently in operation at the loadout consists of taking
samples in the spring and fall from well HGDAL 3 which is completed in
Dry Creek alluvium downstream from the loadout's facilities (4.05.13(1)).
The list of parameters analyzed is found in Table 13-2 of Tab 13.
Surface Water Monitoring Plan
2. The applicant has and will continue to conduct monitoring of surface
water in a manner approved by the Division. Sites HGSD1 ~md
HGSD2 were planned to sample conditions upstream and downstream of
the loadout, respectively, along Dry Creek. The list of pazazneters
sampled is found in Table 13-1 of Tab 13.
In addition to the monitoring discussed above, the operator is required to
monitor dischazges from two NPDES dischazge points (sediment bonds)
as required by the mine's NPDES permit.
H. Transfer of Wells
No transfer of wells is proposed. All monitoring wells and the Yampa Valley
Alluvial Well will be reclaimed prior to bond release (4.05.14).
I. Discharge of Water into an Under round Mine
No surface water will be dischazged into underground mine workings
(4.05.15).
Stream Buffer Zones
A buffer zone is proposed along Dry Creek. No mining activities aze
permitted to take place within 100 feet of Dry Creek with the exception of:
I. The Rail Loop Pond (Pond 2)
2.
