Cooperative Extension Service-may implement appropriate weed control measures. Control <br />measures will generally involve application of selective herbiudes, with the type(s), application <br />rate(s), and duration of treatment as recommended by the consulting agencies. Based on <br />'previous consultations, the following have been identified as potential agents for noxious weed <br />control: <br />• 2 4_D <br />• Dimethylene salt of dicamba (Banvel) <br />• Pidoram (Tordon) <br />• Glyphosate (Roundup) <br />• Napromide (Devrinol) <br />• Oxyflourfen (Goal) <br />• Sulfometuron (Oust) <br />Other Project Considerations <br />The Planning Commission Review Checklist includes the following items, which may or may not <br />have been adequately addressed in the preceding discussions. Where an issue has been addressed, <br />reference to the previous discussion(s) is provided. Where an issue has not been addressed, a brief <br />discussion is provided. <br />A. Project Does Not Create Anger to Safety in Surrounding Areas -For surrounding azeas, <br />the only potential project-related safety hazards aze traffic hazards associated with coal haulage <br />operations and general traffic. <br />Potential traffic hazards are addressed by road design (i.e.: turn and acceleration/ deceleration <br />____ _ __ __ _ _ _ lanes and adequate sight. distances at access .points),. road signage, speed limits,, and standazd _____ ___ _ <br />haulage safety practices. Project Does Not Create the Following: <br />1) Water Pollution - (refer to Project Description/Nazrative -Section 11, Drainage Control On <br />Site, and Petitioner Shall Report on the Following -Section 3, Water Pollution Controls) <br />2) Destmction of Visua] Amenities - (refer to Petitioner Shall Report on [he Following - <br />Section 5,~ Landscaping; 'Eazth-MOvirig; Visual Screening Plan, and/or Landscape Plan). <br />Also, the proposed project will not affect any azeas of important historic or visual resources <br />and will not alter any significant local features or landforms. <br />3) Offensive Noise Beyond the Property Boundaries - (refer to Petitioner Shall Report on the <br />Following -Section 4, Noise Abatement Techniques) <br />4) Vibration Beyond the Boundazies of the Property -The proposed highwall mining activities <br />will not result in ground vibrations beyond the immediate underground azea where the <br />highwall miner cutterhead is operating. Any vibrations aze not reasonably expected to be <br />discernable at the overlying ground surface. <br />5) Smoke.
